Elderberry-Simple and Natural Immune Booster

I have used this recipe for the past two years.  Instead of trying to take you through a photo or movie journey of it myself I wanted to share this one from Mountain Rose Herbs.  They have a great movie and have sold me most of the ingredients.

To add to the video because he goes through fast.  This is the recipe and steps.

Mix and boil

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup elderberries (here is a link to Mountain Rose Herbs where I got my elderberries
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5 cloves
  • 1 tbsp of freshly grated ginger

Simmer until about half of the liquid is left.

Strain and mix the juice with 1 cup honey.

We put this on pancakes in the morning a bunch in the winter cause it tastes great and boasts the immune system.  When sick we take it much more often (like noted on the video).  It makes a nice hot drink doing a cup hot water with a tbsp of this mixed in.
