Rachel and Simple Technology

My wife tells me I am a hard person to buy presents for. As I am an easy person to please, I don’t see why she believes so. I suppose it spawns from not having anything that I am obsessed about and simply like just about everything. I have simple tastes and don’t normally choose extravagance over functionality. Fancy dining out for me can be as easy as hanging out in a Village Inn for coffee.

I suppose that I am a simple person who doesn’t actively pursue any one objective or want. I have always been a jack of all trades, and it’s the small things in life that give me pleasure.

Simple Stories – Michele

cottage gardenI want to share a special guest post today by Michele O’Connor.  It is so inspiring to hear her talk about life, purpose, and action!

Dying For the Simple Life

Eleven years ago, I came within a hair’s breadth of dying. It’s hard to believe, but it turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me.

It all began when I was hospitalized with severe vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, dehydration, and a high fever. I probably had a virus that was too uncommon to be identifiable.

I say probably because my doctors never quite could figure out what was wrong with me. At the time they said I might have terminal cancer and I might go into a coma and/or die because all my internal organs were failing except for my heart.

Simple Stories – Lily (my daughter)

Lily winter at the park -- Simple Living UpdateA few weeks ago my daughter asked if she could post on my site.  She is so cute and is becoming quite a writer herself.  Her thoughts come out random… but that is the beauty of childhood and I left the post in her words.  Here is Lily!

Simple Stories – Lily

Hi, my name is Lily.

I am 9 years old and like simple living. (Note, one reason I like it is because it is much easier to clean when we live simply.)

I am going to write about what I do for fun.

Here we go.

Simple Living Stories - Melissa

Today we have a special guest post from Melissa.  A super fun family who have figured out how to live the life they want.  So fun!

Simple Stories – Melissa

Two years ago my husband and I decided to sell almost everything we owned and move into an RV to travel fulltime.  So you may be wondering why… Why would we sell it all to live in a tiny space?

Well, almost two years ago, our little family of four moved into my sister’s house while they moved overseas for three years. We were coming from the tiniest of tiny houses and their’s was…well, lets just say we didn’t even need to use the rooms upstairs!

My husband had just started his own business, which was going great, and I had just relaunched mine. We were excited and life was good.

…Until one day when my husband heard a “pop” in his back while helping my brother-in-law move a very heavy filing cabinet.

Enough! Starting Our Simple Journey

Life’s pretty simple. That’s right, I’ve got it all figured out. Love God, love others, and you’re done.

Yeah, right…the devil’s in the details…

Sometimes I THINK I have it all figured out. Then I wake up.

It’s true that life can be simple. But it’s so easy for me to make it complicated when it doesn’t have to be. It’s so easy to make things hard…

Which is why I’ve decided to become a monk.

Just kidding…
