Category: Books on Simple Living

These are some of my reflections from my favorite simple living books. Books are often the window, the kick, the way to dream, about a better simple life that is focused, uncluttered, and centered around what matters most.

Ever wonder about homeless people? I do.  What is their story? What do they think of the world? Why are they homeless?  What about the mental illness statistics?  Is there something that can be done… is there something I can do?

I know there are lots of people hungry, cold, and hurting and I would like to help them.

I also know that it is a decent source of income to sit on the side of the road with a sign… and that lots of non-homeless people play the part.

Until We All Come Home

A few weeks ago I got the privilege of an advanced copy of this book.  ‘Amazing‘ is the best way I can describe it.  Once I started it I couldn’t stop.  Kim pulled me in.

This is a book about God and His love, His ways, His eyes, and how different they are from our own.  I finished the book appalled at what Kim went through but almost just a little bit jealous of how close she got to God.

Kim is an ordinary person with a heart for orphans and this story is about how she adopted her son.  When it says ‘A Harrowing Journey, a Mother’s Courage, a Race to Freedom’ they aren’t stretching anything.

Kingdom Journeys – Simply Books

I had the privilege of being on the launch team for Kingdom Journeys this month.  I have discovered it is one of the fun perks of blogging.  To be on the launch team of the book gets me a free advanced copy of the book and is a great way to meet other bloggers.  Except for the free book and the cool contacts I am not paid for my review and all thoughts are my own.

First off, before getting started, you have to go download the book because it is free through Saturday (Sep 29) for kindle.   Here is the link – Kingdom Journeys.  It will be available in print starting next week but this is an incredible steal… you can’t go wrong with free 🙂
