How is the summer going?

My summer has been full of a bunch of traveling so far and has a lot more traveling yet to come.

Two days ago we took a bullet train across China and yesterday we flew to Taiwan.

Today I am sitting here in a daze trying to collect myself ūüôā

But it got me thinking about travel for our weekly challenge this week.  It is a short challenge but it is a pretty important one for this season.

Simple Challenge – Week 2

Welcome to Simple Living Challenge Week 2 for January 2013.

Welcome to growth week – my favorite week of the month!

Simple Living is about taking out clutter from our physical and non-physical lives.

But why?

For empty space? 


So we can have abundant lives, full of things we love, and driven by purpose and passion.  And we can make room for these by cutting out stress, negative emotions, distractions, and useless busyness.

Because this is the goal we need to take determined action toward adding value to our lives.  Not only will it help us grow and encourage us to keep making space, it will also motivate us by helping us see the rewards.

Today I wanted to share with you some TED talks that I love.  These are a really simple ways to add growth to your life in 20 minutes or less.  Many are equivalent to summarizing a good non-fiction book into a 20 minute speech.  Less time, but just as much mental learning and new ideas to be inspired by.

Grab a fancy liquid or a treat and get comfortable.

Simple Challenge – Week 1

Starting month 7 of the Simple Living Challenges and I am pretty excited!  Every Monday there is a small challenge and each week of the month has a theme.

Week 1 is all about cleaning out the clutter!  

… and there always seems to be so much of that hiding around..

This week the challenge includes another area that is often overlooked, but one that still slows our lives down.

It isn’t an obvious one with simplifying or decluttering but it doesn’t make it less important.

It is also an easy one to do with a cup of lemonade and a few hours.
